Family Room Project Overview

Replaced exterior walls with double walls for sound and thermal efficiency. Installed four inches of rigid insulation on concrete slab and put a radiant heat system on that, then a tile membrane, then tile for a very comfortable room, this also provides a thermal break so the concrete slab floor becomes part of the conditioned space and not a heat sink drawing heat from the building envelope to the ground under it. A fireplace was installed along with a bay window whose roof was integrated into the existing roof and soffit. A mud closet with built-ins was also added and integrated into the existing roofline.
